Postural Stability Instruction (PSI) Referrals
Postural Stability Instruction (PSI) is the ONLY evidenced based exercise that provides proven OUTCOMES for frequent or recurrent fallers.
PAL Charity has been commissioned by () to provide pastoral stability instruction for people 55 and over who have had a history of falls in the previous 12 months.
Every year one in 3 (33%) adults over 60 experience 1 or more falls - increasing to one in two (50/0) for those 80 years and over.
Following a fall, less than 50% will regain their former levels of independence. The personal cost of falling includes loss of confidence, increased social isolation and severe injuries that together are significant factors in people having to move from their own homes into high cast long term residential care.
In England, falls admissions account for 4 mullion hospital bed days each year and hip fractures alone cost the UK £2 Billion.
Competing a PSI programme will not only support you to improve muscle strength, balance & confidence - it will also support you to access wider health & wellbeing services, enabling you to live healthier and happier in later life.
